( 30 years of donation… It’s only the beginning ) Islam Presentation Committee is one of the Committees that is affiliated to Al-Najat Benevolent Society. The Committee was founded in 1933 AH corresponding 1978 AD, when the Committee started as a small room by an idea from some enthusiastic Muslim young people were jealous and eager to help their beloved religion "Islam". As they found very suitable circumstances for "Da'wah" missionary work. These youth began to apply the idea by educating expatriates of different nationalities. They started with teaching Arabic and how to pronounce it so as to be able to teach them the principles of Islam, its values and corners. This was limited to Fridays because this was the laborer's weekend. Thus, the Committee was called "Friday Schools". Therefore, the Committee started from this point; after the small room, it became a flat in Al-Awqaf building; then, it developed and expanded till its head office became in Al-Mulla Saleh Mosque in Fahed Al-Salem street. Now the Committee has fifteen branches in different parts of Kuwait and its performing its role, thanks God, in the "Da'wah" missionary activities by sponsoring preachers (Shiyoukh) who speak different languages, now they are more than 74 preachers. When we look at the size of the achievement that was accomplished with the help of our God (Subhanahu Wa ta'ala) then with the efforts exerted by this blessed Committee, now when we are in the year 2009. We look at the numbers of people who converted to Islam since the date of the Committee's foundation; the number is more than 44 thousand man and woman who became rightly guided from of different nationalities of the world. The Committee also present many social services such as educate communities of various nationalities giving Friday's preach in different foreign languages. Organizing the project of "preparing breakfast for the fasting in Ramadhan annually". In that project more than 100 thousand meals are prepared for the fasting. The Committee undertakes to spread the Islamic awareness amongst different communities and those who became rightly guided recently, this service is presented in many different languages. Lectures for non-Muslims are held to explain Islam in a way that is simple and clear to be understood. Some entertainment and recreation activities are held for non-Muslims, Arabic lessons for expatriates who do not speak Arabic are given in the Committee's numerous branches, printing and providing different means for "Da'wah" missionary activities such as books, tapes, bulletins for both Muslims and non-Muslims in many foreign languages.
